Service was fast and seems to have solved the problem but was expensive, compared to other options out there. I priced the repair out (Alternator replacement) at two other places and it came in significantly cheaper at both (and that is with the $25 off coupon used in Dave's price). Big price issue was the cost of the part, that was way more expensive than Tuffy or other shops (or to buy yourself at Autozone). You could argue that you get what you pay for but in this case I believe you pay a little more.
We are sorry you weren't happy with the price. We did give you the estimate before the work was done. Also, you are correct that you can buy the part for much less & install it yourself. When you go to a retail store, you pay list price instead ............ . Take for example buying a plant at Home Depot. You can buy the plant & plant it yourself in your yard but if you hire a landscaper to plant it, it will cost more. You are not just buying the part but also getting the service behind the price. If it were to fail within 2 years or 24,000 miles the labor is free .......... as many times as it may fail in that time period (the part has a lifetime warranty as long as you own the car). Paying a little more is not a bad option when you consider the service behind the sale.Dave's Auto Repair - Sarasota
